Dear Families,
Last Friday at SBW we recognised and celebrated Father's Day. It was fantastic to have Dad's, Pop's, Grandpa's, Uncles, etc at our breakfast spending time with their loved ones. Later that morning I read a story to our Kinder class about Father's and the excitement they had in sharing their stories from the morning created a real buzz. As a school one of our values is that of connection. This is our connection to each other but also our connection to our local community. Events such as the Father's Day Breakfast are a great opportunity for us to connect with families and the wider community. A big thank you to Mrs Michelle Wells for her outstanding catering, Mrs Rachel Donnelly and Ms Erin McCormick for their organisation of the morning, Myles Britza for his assistance and to our staff and students for their presence and support during the morning. Importantly, thank you to the Dad's, Pop's, Grandpa's, Uncles, etc that attended and made it an enjoyable morning.
On Monday we had Michael Roberts and Kaitlyn Minahan from COGLearn join us for the day as part of our continual coaching and professional learning opportunities that our teaching staff access. Michael has been coming to SBW for almost 3 years and has consistently commented on the ongoing improvement in teaching and learning practices that he has observed over this time. School improvement and effectiveness is vital for us to continue to evolve as a school to ensure that we are providing the best possible learning environment and opportunities for our students. Feedback, both constructive and positive, as well as data continues to inform next steps as we strive to continually live out our mission, vision and purpose as well as striving for ongoing improvement and effectiveness.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Nic
