Religious Education

Last Thursday September 4, Matilda, Harriet and Tilly completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the Star of the Sea Church in Wynyard. These students have been working closely with Mrs Plapp and they will continue to participate in the Sacramental Program up until Friday October 24 where Archbishop Anthony will lead the Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist Mass.

On Tuesday evening our teaching staff met for professional learning in the area of Religious Education to begin our RE Project. This PL was facilitated by Di Murray, a Subject Matter Expert, who works in the Catholic Identity and Evangelisation Team at Catholic Education Tasmania. This project involves planning, assessing and reporting on a unit from the Good News for Living curriculum. The focus for this project will be the Scripture unit, which is scheduled for delivery in Weeks 1-5 of Term 4. The RE Project is part of our teachers accreditation maintenance that requires teachers of Religious Education to undertake annually 5 hours of school based professional learning in Religious Education aligned to the Good News for Living (GNFL) curriculum framework.
